Elwood’s Fave Five Numbers from 1 to 5

Welcome to the inaugural edition of my Fave Five. Every week I’ll share a list of five of my favorite things in a given category. Lists could include anything from Fave Five Simpsons Episodes to Fave Five Cereal Mascots to Fave Five Led Zeppelin Songs.

I’m calling these lists my Fave Five to reinforce that these are just that – my favorites. I’m not declaring they’re the best or greatest. Those are subjective ideas, and we’d waste too much time debating what exactly constitutes “best.” These are just, like, my opinions, man. Let me know your choices, too.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure I’ll still write angry diatribes from time to time. But I think keeping at least one corner of the internet positive is a good thing.

Keeping it simple… I’m starting with my Fave Five Numbers From 1 to 5.

  • #5: One
It’s the loneliest number that you’ll ever know. Number one always thinks it’s the best, so I knocked it down a few pegs for this list.
  • #4: Four
It’s too square to land anywhere else on the list. Too square… two squared… 2^2=4? Math jokes!
  • #3: Five
The highest you can count on one hand (or foot!) but not enough to grab the top spot on the list.
  • #2: Two
It’s the perfect pair… but missed the top spot for it’s association with bowel movements.
  • #1: Three
Trilogies, trinities, three dimensions, three musketeers, Three Amigos… menage a trois, the middle finger, members of the band Rush… Three truly is a magic number.

1907, 1908, 2016… YES! Although I wouldn’t be upset if the Cubs added a few more.
